Tauck is bringing the VIP experience to more places and doubling its family river cruise departures in 2017.
The Connecticut-based guided tour and cruise company announced its 2017 roster of Tauck Bridges family departures Tuesday, revealing that travelers departing on three of its eight-day "Castles & Kings: London to Paris" itineraries next July will tour the iconic Louvre after it's been closed to the public.
The museum, which is home to the Mona Lisa, hosts as many as nine million visitors annually and thus draws considerable crowds day in and day out.
The unique Louvre experience will be available to travelers departing on the Castles & Kings itinerary July 2, July 9 and July 23. The itinerary starts at $5,490 per person based on double occupancy and includes airfare and the private after-hours tour.
Tauck already offers similar after-hours experiences at the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel on tours to Rome.

Another highlight on tap for 2017 is an eight-day "Family Fun Along the Seine: Paris to Normandy" river cruise that will include a full-day excursion to Normandy's D-Day Beaches and a guided excursion to artist Claude Monet's Giverny home.
Overall, Tauck will double its family river cruise departures from 10 to 20 next year.
Although some existing Bridges itineraries are set to return for 2017, Tauck revealed a handful of enhancements to come, including upgrades to three of the four featured accommodations on its eight-day "Costa Rica: Jungles and Rainforests" departure.
Tauck has also added an after-hours visit to the Oetzi Village archeological park to its "Alpine Adventure" itinerary.
In all, Tauck will operate 19 Tauck Bridges family itineraries across North America, Europe, Latin America and Africa in 2017. Additional details regarding each can be found on Tauck's official website.
