ARC Joins NDC Exchange

Airlines Reporting Corporation has joined NDC Exchange, the industry-owned platform designed to support IATA’s new distribution capability for the sale of airfare and other products.
Developed jointly by Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO) and SITA, NDC Exchange performs real-time message translation and supports many industry APIs regardless of schema standard and version.
By connecting multiple airlines to many sellers with a single interface, customers can extend their reach to traditional and non-traditional distribution points, reducing distribution costs and expediting interoperability across the travel industry ecosystem.
“Collaboration by industry-owned entities is essential as distribution continues to evolve,” Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) President and CEO Mike Premo said in a statement. “By combining each company’s expertise, ARC and ATPCO expect to offer more flexible transaction processing workflows, billing and settlement and outputs that enable airlines and agencies to efficiently manage their partnerships as available content grows. We look forward to working with ATPCO in supporting their NDC Exchange solution.”
As part of the new partnership, ARC and ATPCO will create a joint project team to work on integrating order-to-sales data transformation and integrating the ARC settlement services.
“Having ARC settlement data integrated with NDC Exchange means that airlines and agencies that join our growing marketplace can realize the benefits of an NDC-powered, end-to-end distribution process faster,” Rolf Purzer, ATPCO president and CEO said in a statement. “Together with our customers, we see the next generation of distribution taking shape. We will now be able to extend our offering to also support the industry migration to One Order.”
The NDC Exchange launched in October 2017 and continues to grow. Airline rich content from Routehappy was also recently integrated into the platform. Routehappy, a recently acquired subsidiary of ATPCO, is a leading source for airline industry pricing and shopping data.
