From mulled wine and bratwurst to bright lights and fun shops, a Christmas market is sure to bring out the holiday cheer. Europe has always been known for having beautiful Christmas markets during the holiday season.
Excite Holidays compiled a list of European Christmas markets up and running through the new year and several to put on a must-see list for next year.
Dresden, Germany
This historic city is a perfect spot for a market during the holidays. There are a few Christmas markets scattered around the city, but the one not to miss is outside the famous Frauenkirche church. It's an unforgettable experience for all who stop in.
Vienna, Austria
Vienna has Christmas markets that have been around since the Middle Ages. Of all of them, the Rathausplatz Market is the one you'll want to be sure to see. This one has a livelier atmosphere than some of the others and is lined with nice shops.
Budapest, Hungary
The Christmas markets in Budapest stay open until January 2nd so there is still time to visit one this year. Take in the bright lights on the huge Christmas tree or enjoy some of the amazing Hungarian food staples.
