Celebrity Cruises Executive Shares Updates on River Cruise Launch, Future Plans

Celebrity Cruises will launch its first river cruise ship in August of 2027. 

I caught up with Katina Athanasiou, SVP Service and Sales - The Americas for Celebrity Cruises, at the 2026 ASTA River Cruise Expo, to learn more about the plans for 2027 and beyond. 

Athanasiou shares details on the first ships coming to the Danube and the Rhine here in Europe, the industry first features the ships will have, and what is up ahead with new ship orders.

Plus, hear what she had to say about the possibility of expanding to other rivers around the world, like the United States.
