Big things are coming to Jamaica, and Sandals Resorts International is making it worth the wait. The resort group has announced a US$200 million investment to completely reimagine three of its most beloved Jamaican properties — Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast — and the countdown to their grand reopenings has officially begun.
After Hurricane Melissa swept through last fall, Sandals used the unexpected downtime as a rare opportunity to dream bigger. Rather than simply restoring what was there, the team walked the properties, talked with staff and asked a bold question: what if we started from scratch? The answer became what SRI is calling its Sandals 2.0 vision.

Guests heading back to Sandals South Coast can plan their trip for November 18, 2026, while Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Montego Bay will both reopen on December 18, 2026. What they'll find is a fully transformed experience—stunning new arrival moments overlooking the Caribbean Sea, fresh accommodation categories, redesigned pools, new dining concepts and reimagined social spaces, all while keeping the soul of each resort very much intact.

In the meantime, Jamaica is still wide open for business. Sandals Royal Plantation, Sandals Ochi, Sandals Dunn's River, Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril are all welcoming guests now, so there's no reason to put off that trip to this stunning island.
The best is truly yet to come.
