Smartphones and social media have a major impact in the modern world we live in, especially when it comes to traveling.

Everyone loves to share pictures and post about their time abroad, but is it really that ideal for travelers to be plugged in so much while on vacation?

Or would it be better to remain unplugged to truly focus on the relaxation of vacation?

Travel Planners International spoke to different travel agents to see which is the preferred way to go for travelers.

As it turns out, it's all about personal preference, and knowing that going in when planning a vacation.

Per the Travel Planners International blogger agent "Destiny Drawdy Wergeles says, "My clients like to disconnect because it's a way for them to unplug."

"Susan Leonidas says, "Mine are all over social media when they're on a cruise. They actually help me market the ship we're on.""

As the saying goes, to each their own.
