Spring has officially arrived, so it's time to start planning for April travel.

Whether looking to celebrate holidays like Easter or Earth Day, attend a bucket-list event like the NFL Draft or getaway on a last-minute spring break, this coming stretch presents can't-miss opportunities.

Here are some of the best places you can visit this April.

Where to Travel for Easter

Vienna, Austria is a premier European escape that's calling this Easter holiday, which falls on Sunday, April 20 in 2025.

This capital city boasts a slew of traditional holiday markets featuring handcrafted decorations, painted Easter eggs and mouthwatering sweets.

Consider a stay at the Almanac Palais Vienna, a boutique property set inside a pair of former palaces dating back to the 19th century that also features a coffee shop and two-floor wellness sanctuary in addition to an all-Austrian art collection created in collaboration with the city’s legendary Galerie bei der Albertina Zetter.

While Earth Day is officially Tuesday, April 22, National Park Week kicks off on Saturday, April 19, one of six free entrance days in 2025.

April travelers can enjoy free entrance to more than 400 national parks across the country on this weekend but if they want to avoid the crowds and discover something new and worthwhile off of the beaten path, they may consider Oregon's North Coast.

An eco-friendly vacation to towns like Astoria, Seaside and Long Beach is certain to produce lasting memories as visitors can book environmentally-conscious accommodations like the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa, The Bowline Hotel, the Adrift Hotel and the Ashore Hotel in addition to enjoying locally-sourced seafood at spots like Bridgewater Bistro, Norma’s Seafood & Steak and Pickled Fish, among others.

Travelers to this overlooked region can also take advantage of scenic walking, hiking and biking trails as well as thrilling ziplining adventures and guided nature and riverfront trolley tours.

Where to Travel for a Last-Minute Spring Break

Travelers eyeing a last-minute spring break escape should target a getaway to Puerto Rico. Americans venturing to this U.S. territory won't have to worry about their passport status, of course, but travelers from all over the world can also take advantage of special hotel and resort savings on top of the splendid Caribbean climate, culture and history.

Casa Parcha is offering 30 percent off a two-night stay inside the property’s glamping tents when you use code DISCOVER while the 1950s-inspired Don Rafa Boutique Hotel & Residences is rewarding travelers with 20 percent off accommodations and a complimentary welcome drink and bottle of sparkling wine for stays of four nights or more.

Where to Travel for an Adults-Only Getaway

Head to the Northeast U.S. for a much-needed break from the kids this April. The Beach Club on Madison Avenue will make its debut in Cape May, New Jersey this spring, unveiling brand-new kitchenettes, contemporary finishes, modern amenities, novel linens and more.

The blissful adults-only boutique hotel is located just blocks from the beach and within walking distance of town. What's more, guests can save 20 percent when they book by April 2.

The exclusive adults-only hotel, Falling Rock, is a sophisticated retreat that offers an unparalleled spring break experience with features like personalized butler service, daily happy hour featuring a champagne cart and light hors d’oeuvres, and complimentary services at the Holistic Healing Center including float therapy and cryotherapy.

Plus, guests can look forward to almost 100 different activities, including ropes courses, art classes, photography workshops and expert-led culinary experiences.

Where to Travel for Major Sporting Events

San Antonio, Texas and Tampa, Florida will be buzzing to cap off March Madness festivities during the first weekend in April for the men's (April 5-7) and women's (April 4-6) Final Four basketball tournaments, respectively.

A few days later, all eyes will shift to Augusta, Georgia for the 2025 Masters golf tournament taking place at the iconic Augusta National Golf Course from April 10-13.

April will conclude with one of the most unique NFL Drafts in the league's history as this year's three-day extravaganza will be hosted at famed Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Airlines are already gearing up for the marquee event on April 24-26 by adding flights over the month's final weekend.

Where to Travel for Other Exciting Events

One of April's premier entertainment events will take place in Southern California when the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival returns to Indio, California from April 11-13 and April 18-20.

This year's headliners include the likes of Lady Gaga, Post Malone and Green Day, among others.

Local legend Lil Wayne will be among this year's top performers but visitors can also look forward to some of the best in art, books and culture in addition to spectacular music and food offerings.
