Contiki is creating a more robust Africa offering, expending into eastern and southern regions of the continent with unique tours designed for younger travelers, ages 18-35 years old.
This is the first expansion into a new region for the tour operator since 2010 and reflects the desire of younger travelers to visit regions far and wide.
Four new trips and five new extensions will be available to Contiki's guests, taking them to the countries of South Africa,Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Kenya where they can climb Mount Kilimanjaro, relax on beaches Zanzibar or go gorilla trekking in Uganda.
Contiki has hand-selected luxury lodging for these journeys that offer all of the comforts of home at Sentrim Hotels and Lodges. Guests will have comfortable beds, en-suites, patios, lounges and swimming pools where they can relax after the day's adventures.
These journeys also have a number of inclusions within the trip itself, meaning guests do not have to shell out extra cash to see the Big Five, witness the great migration, see Victoria Falls, visit an elephant sanctuary and more during their trip. All entry fees and game reserves are also included.
Groups for these departures are limited to approximately 20 passengers per trip, swapping large buses used in other destinations for small, seven-passenger safari-style vehicles and luxury mini-buses. Some intra-continent flights are also included in trip prices.
The new trips include the 11-day Cape, Safari and Falls; the seven-day Taste of Tanzania; the seven-day Kenyan Highlights; and the 13-day East Africa Safari.
