10 Caribbean Destinations Where Travelers Don't Need to Quarantine

As increasing numbers of Caribbean countries open their borders for tourism, questions arise as to the different policies regarding their COVID-19 protocols. Although the lion's share of destinations requires negative COVID tests prior to arrival, they don't all require that travelers quarantine.

We've compiled a list of 10 countries where quarantining is not required.

Set below the hurricane belt, Aruba's dry climate translates into daily temperatures of 80 degrees - and with an abundance of sunshine. The destination, considered the wreck diving capital of the world, is an excellent option for travelers interested in such watersports as windsurfing.

Requirements: Aruba requires travelers to be tested 12 to 72 prior to flight departure to Aruba. It is required that all travelers take a Molecular SARS-CoV-2 test based on a nasal swab before entering Aruba, except children under age 14, who are exempt.

Upscale and low-key, Anguilla attracts travelers in quest of deluxe accommodations, pristine, bleached white beaches - there are 33 in all - and a happening culinary scene.

Requirements: Visitors must pre-register on the Anguilla Tourist Board website and submit negative PCR tests and proof of health/travel insurance policies within three days of arrival. Travelers will be tested upon arrival and again 10 days later.

Cradled between Mexico and Guatemala, unspoiled Belize has gained a solid reputation as a snorkeling and dive destination, with the longest barrier in the Northern Hemisphere.

Requirements: The country is scheduled to open its border to U.S. travelers on Oct. 1. Travelers must submit an online health questionnaire at least 24 prior to arrival and negative PCR results from tests taken 24 to 72 hours prior to arrival.

Barbados offers visitors a slice of British culture - think cricket, polo and high tea - in a setting that provides a distinctly Caribbean vibe and a host of cultural sights to explore.

Requirements: U.S. travelers must take a COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival in order to enter the country Travelers are required to complete an online immigration/customs form, which must be submitted 24 hours prior to travel.

With the Atlantic Ocean to its north and the Caribbean Sea to its south, the Dominican Republic features 1,000 of pristine beach and gin-clear waters - along and vibrant Latin culture.

Requirements: Travelers no longer need to provide a negative PCR or COVID-19 test upon arrival. Rather, "airports and other ports of entry will administer a quick, aleatory breath test to between 3 percent and 10 percent of passengers, and all those who present symptoms, upon arrival," according to the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism website.

Jamaica boasts a diverse landscape, which includes gorgeous beaches, lush rainforests and verdant mountains - along with distinctive and delicious cuisine, reggae music and myriad activity options.

Requirements: U.S. residents are required to obtain and upload COVID-19 PCR test results and a travel authorization application at least 10 days prior to departure.

Puerto Rico features 272 miles of spectacular coastline and hundreds of beaches. Its capital, San Juan, is known for its colorful colonial buildings and such 16th-century landmarks as El Morro and La Fortaleza.

Requirements: Travelers must complete an online declarations form and arrive with proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular-based test.

As a volcanic island, Saint Lucia has more mountains than any other Caribbean destination - its two famous being the two majestic Pitons. The island also boasts tropical rainforests and beautiful volcanic beaches.

Requirements: Travelers 5 years and older must have a negative PCR result taken no more than seven days prior to arrival in Saint Lucia. Travelers 18 and older must submit a travel registration form no less than days prior to travel to Saint Lucia.

Set on a 37-mile island that it shares with French St. Martin, which remains closed to U.S. travelers, Dutch Saint Maarten offers travelers an eclectic collection of resorts, restaurants and bars, and casinos.

Requirements: Travelers must complete an online health authorization application prior to departure and take an rt-PCR test obtained from a nasopharyngeal swab only 120 hours prior to departure.
