Get to Know the Top US Summer Destinations

Sizzling Summer Destinations

1/11
Summer is right around the corner and if you haven't made any plans, Allianz Global Assistance has some suggestions.

In a recent survey, the travel insurance provider reveals the top destinations of summer.

"This year's results yielded some interesting findings: New York is a newcomer to the list, revealing that travelers are not only interested in beach destinations this summer," said Daniel Durazo, director of communications for Allianz Global Assistance USA.

Orlando

2/11
With new theme park rides and attractions opening around the city-it's no wonder summertime is peak travel season in Orlando, Florida. But there's more to explore than just the traditional amusements in the city.

New York City

3/11
New York, which didn't even make the top 10 in 2017 is now the number-two most sought-after destination for travelers this summer. When you visit, be sure to check out its most recent addition.

Las Vegas

4/11
Vegas is heating up the number-three spot this summer. Let some of Sin City's fabulous pools cool you off.

Los Angeles

5/11
It's no surprise to find Los Angeles on the list of top summer vacation destinations. The City of Angels has been attracting a record number of visitors lately.

Honolulu

6/11
The beaches of Waikiki are legendary and the perfect place to spend a summer vacation-and it's now even easier to reach this island paradise.

Miami

7/11
Visitors to Miami can definitely live their best vacation life with stunning white-sand beaches, high-end shopping and an exciting nightlife scene-but you don't have to be a tourist the whole time. Get to know the "real Miami" too.

Seattle

8/11
It's not always raining in Seattle. Clearly, travelers know that summer is the best month to visit the seaside city-which is drier than Phoenix in the month of July. Come for festivals, ice cream, farmers markets, a booming brewery scene and more.

Boston

9/11
Boston may be just number eight on the Allianz list of top summer destinations, but U.S. News & World Report put the city at number one.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

10/11
It's not just the beaches bringing summer travelers to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The region has raised the bar on its tourism offerings that have worked to broaden the region's appeal-it must be working.

San Francisco

11/11
It seems as though there are a lot of people who would like to leave their hearts in San Francisco this summer. All you need is 48 hours for the perfect visit.
