Why Hawaii Is Perfect in the Fall

Spend the Autumn in Hawaii

1/11
Fall is one of the best seasons to visit Hawaii. After the rush of summer vacation has subsided, the islands exude a laid-back vibe but continue to offer a wealth of opportunities to visitors with deals, fun events and unique festivals.

Fewer Crowds

2/11
For starters, visiting the Hawaiian islands in shoulder-season means there are going to be fewer travelers experiencing the beauty of Hawaii at the same time as you. The large crowds of the summer and long gone and you're here before the soon to be winter break travelers, making it arguably the best time of the year to visit.

Fall Deals

3/11
There are several advantages to traveling during the offseason. In addition to fewer crowds, travelers will also find outstanding deals on accommodations with rates at their lowest of any time during the year.

Hawaii Food and Wine Festival

4/11
Major events are also one of the big draws to the Hawaiian Islands in the fall. One of the biggest is the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival with featured events including Pasta la Vista, a six-course wine-paired dinner, and Crazy Rich Cocktails, a craft-cocktail themed event that highlights Asian flavors. The event lasts from October 5-27.

Ironman World Championship

5/11
Sports enthusiasts will want to head to the Big Island for the Ironman World Championship. Top athletes will compete to be the world's best in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island on October 12, 2019.

Kona Coffee Cultural Festival

6/11
The 49th annual Kona Coffee Cultural Festival will take place November 1-10, 2019. It is the oldest food festival in the Hawaiian Islands and, in addition to coffee, features cultural exchanges, music, dance, art and more.

Kauai Coffee Company's Farm Tour

7/11
Maui isn't the only island with a major coffee culture. Kauai Coffee Company operates the largest coffee plantation in the Hawaiian Islands, and visitors this fall can now take advantage of new farm tours that operate Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The tour provides an overview of the coffee-growing process, lets visitors plant their own tree in the orchard and finishes with-of course-coffee.

New Tours on Oahu

8/11
Hawaii Forest and Trail recently launched new private, exclusive tours on Oahu for up to 12 guests. Guests can choose to personalize their adventure and do a waterfall swim, beach walk or two great hikes, including a visit to Diamond Head.

Sail Away With New Tour on Maui

9/11
Alii Nui Sailing Charters is offering a 2.5-hour Royal Sunset Sail from Ma'alaea Harbor. Guests enjoy the sunset from the open-air cabin or the upper deck and partake in a buffet dinner and open bar.

A New Jewel of Waikiki

10/11
Travelers will also have new accommodations from which to choose when visiting this fall. Set to open in September, the intimate ESPACIO, The Jewel of Waikiki, offers just nine-suites over nine floors with dedicated butlers, Italian marble baths, full kitchens and the use of a car.

Even More New Accommodations

11/11
Another autumn newcomer is the Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani, which is slated to open this fall. The property was formerly the Waikiki Parc Hotel, the Halepuna Waikiki property is undergoing a multimillion-dollar transformation to offer 284 guestrooms and four suites with Pacific Ocean views.
