America's Most Challenging Corn Mazes

Americans love their corn mazes come fall. Thankfully, there's no shortage of amazing maize labyrinths all across the country. These are some of the best and most challenging you'll come across.

Dixon, California's Cool Patch Pumpkins, located about 25 minutes southwest of Sacramento, is the home of the world record corn maze. The maze design is unique every year, with 2018's design featuring the Cool Patch Pumpkins logo complete with pumpkins sporting sunglasses.

Head an hour north of Denver and you'll find Fritzler Farm Park. In addition to one of the nation's most challenging corn mazes, the expansive farm park boasts more than a dozen other family-friendly attractions during its annual fall festival events, including a barrel coaster, pumpkin cannons and pedal go-karts.

The largest maze in New England resides in Danville, Vermont. The Big Maze spans a whopping 24 acres and features three miles of dirt trails through 10-foot-tall walls of corn. With over 100 feet of bridges and an underground tunnel, this complex corn maze will not only test your patience but your fitness level.

A 40-minute drive east of Albuquerque, McCall's Pumpkin Patch offers a 16-acre corn maze featuring trails with varied levels of difficulty. What's more, visitors can look forward to a brand new design every year.

This famous corn maze two hours west of Boston covers eight acres and remains one of the nation's most unique year in and year out. 2018's design pays homage to Blackbeard the Pirate exactly 300 years after his death.

Located between Chicago and Milwaukee near the Illinois-Wisconsin border, Richardson Adventure Farm's mind-blowing corn maze spans 28 acres supporting between nine and 10 miles of trail. The 2018 design celebrates Illinois' Bicentennial and showcases the State Capitol building, Abraham Lincoln, Lake Michigan, the Mississippi River and the Gateway Arch as well as Chicago's Navy Pier Ferris wheel.

Visitors to the Pacific Northwest can find Bob's Corn Maze just north of Seattle. The 10-acre course is located in the scenic Cathcart Valley and features a pair of kids mazes. Guests can even attempt to beat the maze at night with the help of a flashlight.

The Davis Mega Maze outside of Boston can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours to conquer. The 2018 iteration spans three acres and features nearly three miles of pathways to navigate.

Visitors to Wisconsin will find the Treinen Farm corn maze about 30 miles northwest of Madison. 2018's eye-popping design is based on "The Elephant's Child," a story about how the elephant got its long trunk. The 15-acre maze (nearly 15 football fields of corn) features over six miles of twists and turns.

Central Virginia's Liberty Mills Farm is home to the largest corn maze east of the Mississippi River. The 33-acre maze is split up into four separate trails ranging from simple (about 30 minutes) to a mystery maze with no maps.
