The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is working to expand the pool of candidates who will campaign for two At-Large Director seats on its National Board of Directors. The organization is inviting all eligible members to self-nominate or encourage their peers to consider running for an open position this winter. Self-nominations for all positions must be submitted by Friday, February 23 at 5 p.m. ET.According to ASTA, the Board of Directors plays a vital role in shaping the health and wellness of the travel agency community and to educate members about the upcoming elections, Jasmine Causey, ASTA's Director of Chapter Relations, and Peter Lobasso, ASTA's Senior Vice President and General Counsel, have recorded a mini-series that provides a brief overview of the election process and the responsibilities of the Board of Directors. Each brief episode of the ASTA 2024 Elections series covers a broad range of topics that should help to answer questions and inspire members to self-nominate.
Viewers will also gain insight from a veteran in Tiffany Hines, President & CEO of Global Escapes and current At-Large Director on the Board. Hines will soon conclude her second two-year term.A full schedule of ASTA election deadlines can be found on the 2024 Election Calendar.
