Just in time for summer flights to Europe, American Airlines is refreshing its in-flight menu with new dishes inspired by its transatlantic destinations.
The new menu launches in the carrier’s business class cabin on June 11 and takes culinary inspiration from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Dishes range from seafood platters and hearty meat entrees to rustic vegetarian dishes.
Passengers will be able to choose from iconic dishes such as French ratatouille, Italian short rib with butternut squash, Spanish paella, German spaetzle with grilled vegetables, and Irish roast lamb with turnips, peas, and baby carrots.
The new menus will be available for passengers flying in Flagship Business class to Paris (CDG), Nice (NCE), Rome (FCO), Milan (MXP), Venice (VCE), Naples (NAP), Barcelona (BCE), Madrid (MAD), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUN), London (LHR), Edinburgh (EDI), and Dublin (DUB).
The carrier is also testing an afternoon tea service on its flights from London and Paris this summer. Additionally, American has extended its meal pre-order window by four more hours, starting in June, so passengers can choose their dishes up to 20 hours before takeoff.
American Airlines recently unveiled another huge upgrade to its Flagship Business class, launching brand new suites with privacy doors last week. The first of the suites are flying on American's on board its Boeing 787-9s on its route from Chicago to London and will roll out to its routes from Philadelphia to London and Zurich on August 6 and September 3, respectively.
In May, American also announced new in-flight menu options for economy fliers, including a new snack box featuring Tostitos chips and salsa, as well as the addition of LaCroix Limoncello sparkling water to the beverage lineup.
