Joining the growing trend of offering sliding privacy doors for business class travelers, American Airlines has announced the debut of new premium Flagship Suite seats.

The high-end suites have been added to the carrier’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft and are designed for use primarily on long-haul routes.

In addition to the popular privacy doors, the suites include a variety of upgrades and perks including more personal storage space, a wireless charging pad, and a chaise lounge seating option that includes an adjustable headrest pillow.

Other creature comforts included with Flagship Suite experience range from an amenity bag containing luxury skincare items to a dual-sided pillow with cool touch fabric on one side and traditional fabric on the other. Food service for Flagship Suite customers will feature a multi-course meal paired with wines.

“Every aspect of our new 787-9 is designed to feel premium in nature,” Heather Garboden, American’s chief customer officer, said in a statement.

Travelers with Flagship Suite tickets will also receive Priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage handling, as well as access to American’s Flagship lounge.

The new suites will be available for purchase starting Monday, and the first flight featuring using them will take place June 5 from Chicago O’Hare (ORD). Additional routes with Flagship Suites will be available this summer and fall.

Here’s a closer look at the start date for the suites:

  • Chicago (ORD) to London (LHR): June 5
  • Philadelphia (PHL) to LHR: August 6
  • PHL to Zurich (ZRH): September 3
  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) to Brisbane, Australia (BNE): October 26

Moving forward, the airline said, the suites will also be added to its Airbus A321XLR aircraft and its Boeing 777-300ER, which are being retrofitted to accommodate the high-end suites.

Several other airlines are already offering suites with privacy doors or are in the process of adding them. JetBlue Airways includes the privacy doors for travelers in its highest-end cabins. And earlier this week, Latam Airlines said it has started offering a new business class that includes sliding door suites on some of its aircraft.
