This spring, it will be easier for travelers to visit some of the most legendary golf courses on the planet, thanks to American Airlines’ latest route expansion.

The Dallas-based carrier has just announced an influx of special flights to Augusta, Georgia, in time for the 2026 Masters Tournament. American’s spring 2026 flight schedule to Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) will be 6% larger than last year, with as many as 23 roundtrip flights per day. The carrier will also fly larger aircraft on certain routes to accommodate more passengers.

With its schedule additions, American will be the only carrier to offer nonstop service to Augusta from six major U.S. cities, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Charlotte, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Phoenix. The airline will also add new departures from key cities like New York, Boston, Washington D.C., and Austin, Texas.

The special expanded flight schedule will operate between April 5 and 13; the Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 6 to 12.

Here’s a look at all the round-trip flights with service to Augusta that American will add the tournament week:

  • Austin, Texas (AUS): Round-trip service on April 10, one flight from AUS on April 5 and one flight to AUS on April 13
  • Boston (BOS): Round-trip service on April 5, 8, 10, 12, 13
  • Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT): Up to six round-trip flights per day on larger aircraft
  • Chicago (ORD): Up to two round-trip flights per day
  • Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW): Up to six round-trip flights per day on larger aircraft
  • Miami (MIA): Daily round-trip service
  • New York (LGA): Up to two round-trip flights per day
  • Philadelphia (PHL): Up to two round-trip flights per day
  • Phoenix (PHX): Round-trip service on April 8 and 10, one flight from PHX on April 5 and one flight to PHX on April 13
  • Washington, D.C. (DCA): Up to three round-trip flights per day

In addition to the flights for travelers heading to the iconic Augusta National Golf Club, American Airlines has also added a new route to Edinburgh, Scotland, known as the official birthplace of the sport.

On March 8, American launched the first flight on its new seasonal route from New York JFK to Edinburgh (EDI). The carrier is using its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft on the transatlantic route, which is scheduled to run through late October. The single-aisle jet offers 20 suites with privacy doors in its Flagship business class cabin, 12 seats in premium economy, and 123 seats in economy class.

Once in the Scottish capital, travelers are just a short drive away from St. Andrew’s Links, home to the oldest golf course in the world, plus many other beautiful courses in and around the city.

Edinburgh is the first international route for American’s new A321XLR plane, which debuted in December 2025 on its domestic flight from New York to Los Angeles.
