American Airlines announced new updates to the Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Legend Mastercard, with new benefits for frequent American Airlines travelers.
The Citi, Mastercard and American Airlines co-branded credit card, which comes with a hefty $695 annual fee, offers several new or updated perks, including the following:
- Up to $500 statement credits on eligible American Airlines Vacations purchases
- Up to $100 back on eligible inflight and Admirals Club purchases
- Up to $180 in Lyft credits a year through earning $15 in Lyft credit a month after taking three eligible rides within that month
Card members will also earn status faster: they’ll earn 12 times AAdvantage miles on eligible AAdvantage Hotels and eligible AAdvantage Cars bookings, up from the original 10X system.
Travelers will also earn 10,000 bonus Loyalty Points when reaching 50,000, 90,000, 165,000 and 240,000 Loyalty Points earned in a qualification year.
“We’re building on our decades-long partnership with Citi and Mastercard to deliver best-in-class co-branded credit card benefits for our cardmembers,” said American’s Senior Vice President of AAdvantage® Scott Long. “The refreshed Citi/AAdvantage Executive Mastercard raises the bar for premium travel, offering exclusive benefits and experiences that help customers reach status faster and get more out of the AAdvantage program.”
Additionally, card members can now enroll in Omni Hotels & Resorts’ Champion status, the hotel brand’s second-highest status tier, offering perks like early check-in, late check-out, and, when available, complimentary room upgrades.
They’ll also earn a free night’s stay when completing two or more consecutive nights at an Omni hotel.
Car rental aficionados will enjoy being able to enroll in the Avis President’s Club through August 31, 2028, enjoying car upgrades, expedited service and more.
Other card member benefits include:
- 4X AAdvantage miles on eligible American Airlines purchases, increased to 5X should a card member spend $150,000 within a calendar year
- 1X AAdvantage miles on all other purchases
- Up to $120 back on prepaid Avis or Budget rentals
- Up to $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credit
- First checked bag free for domestic flights, for the primary cardmember and up to eight companions on the same reservation
- No foreign transaction fees when traveling internationally
- Access to the Admirals Club premium lounge, with unlimited access for primary cardholder and up to two guests
