British Airways is set to operate a record number of flights from North America to London in the summer of 2025, operating over 400 direct flights per week during its busiest travel periods. This ambitious schedule represents the most extensive transatlantic service operated by any European carrier.

British Airways serves 26 U.S. cities with non-stop flights to London, underscoring the carrier’s commitment to meeting a growing demand for travel between the United States and the United Kingdom. It’s also the only European airline to offer a luxury First-Class cabin to transatlantic customers headed for the U.K.’s capital city.

The airline’s expanded schedule for next summer includes the following additions, with flights bound for London Heathrow (LHR):

  • Miami, Florida: An additional seven flights per week, making it a twice-daily service (14 flights per week) year-round. British Airways also plans to debut a new lounge at Miami International Airport in 2025, featuring its latest lounge design concept.
  • Austin, Texas: Six more weekly flights will bring the total to 13 per week, offering more flexibility for both business and leisure travelers, following the 10th anniversary of the Austin-London route earlier this year.
  • Las Vegas, Nevada: Three extra weekly flights during peak season, increasing the total to 10.
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: This sought-after service will be upgraded to a daily operation, marking the first time this route has been offered seven times a week since its inception.
  • Washington D.C.: Seven more flights per week will be added, bringing the total to 21 weekly flights.
  • Vancouver, Canada: The airline will double its weekly flights from Vancouver to London Heathrow during peak summer months, reaching 14 per week. Additionally, with a daily flight to London Gatwick, travelers from Vancouver can now choose from three daily flights to London between June and September.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways' Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, commented on the expansion, saying, "We continue to grow our network, and these additional services across the U.S. reflect the growing demand for travel to and from London. We are committed to providing our customers with greater choice and convenience, and we are excited to offer more opportunities for them to experience our world-class service."

British Airways continues to expand its North American footprint, having introduced new routes from various U.S. cities over the past decade, including Austin in 2014, New Orleans in 2016, Nashville in 2019 and Portland in 2022. The latest addition was Cincinnati, which was launched in 2023.
