A flight attendant working for China Eastern Airlines was injured when she fell out of an airplane Monday.
According to the South China Morning Post, the female flight attendant reportedly fell out of the rear cabin door while attempting to close it as the plane was preparing to take off from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
As the aircraft was getting ready to depart for its journey to Kunming Changshui International Airport, the attendant fell almost 10 feet to the tarmac below, where she suffered bone fractures and bruises. Mechanics preparing the plane for its flight found the woman and called for emergency personnel.
The woman was rushed to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries. After the woman was taken to a local medical facility and the plane was once again prepared for flight, it took off two hours later than originally scheduled.
An anonymous airport employee told SCMP.com that two attendants usually close the back doors of the planes and that it was unclear why she was attempting the task alone.

An image of the plane and tarmac following the woman's fall was shared on Twitter.
Officials from the Shenzhen airport released a statement on the incident.
"A flight attendant accidentally fell on the tarmac from the left rear cabin door when the plane was ready to take-off," the statement read. "She was found suffering bone fractures and was taken to the hospital immediately. The flight rescheduled to fly at 2:33 p.m."
