Either way, it’s a change of scenery. Either you’re going to look at snow and ice, or to get away from it.
Frontier Airlines has added five new routes in and out of Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, Florida.
Starting in mid-November of this year, there will be flight between RSW and Detroit, Syracuse, Buffalo, Minneapolis, and Long Island. All flights will begin on November 16 except for Buffalo, which starts on November 17.
Detroit, Syracuse and Buffalo service will be at least three times a week while Minneapolis and Long Island will be daily.
There is a method to the madness for Frontier. By starting in mid-November, the airline can take advantage of what is known as the high season in Florida, when most northerners visit between Thanksgiving and Easter.
Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines, said:
"We’re thrilled to expand our nonstop offerings across our network. Along with more routes to Florida, new service to Mexico and the Dominican Republic is also on the horizon. As we get closer to winter, now is the time to start planning those tropical getaways. Getting there is easier and more convenient than ever thanks to Frontier’s ‘Low Fares Done Right.’"
