JetBlue Airways is already looking forward to the summer of 2025.

The carrier is not only planning on utilizing its Boston hub even more but will start to introduce first-class on select flights.

Boston, which along with New York and Fort Lauderdale has long served as a JetBlue hub, is expected to add even more flights this coming summer. High on the routes will be a flight to Edinburgh, Scotland, that continues on to Spain that is only seasonal right now.

Edinburgh and Madrid will join Amsterdam, Dublin and London Gatwick as international destinations for JetBlue.

“Madrid and Edinburgh represent two of Europe’s most exciting and popular destinations, and we’re happy to offer even more transatlantic travel options for our customers from Boston and New England,” said Daniel Shurz, head of revenue, network and enterprise planning at JetBlue.

“Europe continues to be part of our network strategy, as our loyal customers look for JetBlue’s signature service and low fares to bring them to top leisure destinations, including across the Atlantic. Since launching flights to London in 2021, we’ve thoughtfully adjusted our European service to maximize value for our customers and our business," he added. "By aligning our schedule with peak seasonal demand and flying our aircraft to other destinations in the off-season, we’re capitalizing from a business perspective while delivering the destinations and experiences our customers love. This approach is driving meaningful results.”

Considering summer 2025, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain and the United Kingdom will be the European markets with regular JetBlue flights. Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, London Heathrow and Paris will have services from/to Boston and New York, while London Gatwick and Madrid will be provided only to/from BOS.

And get ready for a first-class rollout in some markets. The airline is looking to attract customers who are willing to spend more.

JetBlue President Marty St. George said the full Mint product, with the airline’s signature meals and suites, “can’t be duplicated on shorter flights. We’re keeping the rest of our ideas under wraps for now while we prepare for a 2026 launch. Let’s keep our competitors guessing. We want it to be accessible for people who want to fly domestic first and maybe can’t afford to do it on the legacy carriers.”

JetBlue has lost almost $3 billion in the last four years.

Despite two courts of law ruling against them, JetBlue Airways and American Airlines are looking to reengage their partnership.
