This spring, JetBlue is launching nonstop flights between two of the largest cities in the United States.
New York’s “Hometown Airline” will begin twice-daily service between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on May 21.
The airline will operate one morning and one afternoon departure every day from New York.
On the southbound leg, flight 1381 will depart JFK at 7:54 a.m. and arrive in Houston at 10:59 a.m. The second southbound departure, flight 281, will leave New York at 1:41 p.m and arrive in Houston at 4:48 p.m.
Heading north, flight 1382 will leave Houston at 11:50 a.m. and land at JFK at 4:27 p.m. The second northbound departure, flight 282, will be an early evening flight, taking off from Houston at 5:44 p.m. and arriving in New York at 10:23 p.m.
Both New York City and Houston are hosting multiple soccer matches during this summer’s FIFA World Cup, which will no doubt facilitate a surge in travel between the two cities.
“Houston is an important destination for many travelers, and we’re pleased to reintroduce nonstop service between JFK and Houston, giving our customers a convenient connection between these two major metropolitan areas,” said Dave Jehn, Jetblue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships. “With twice-daily flights, we’re offering a schedule that works well for same-day trips, longer stays, and easy connections across our network.”
Fares on the new route are now available for purchase.
