Southwest Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with the Transport Workers Union Local 556 (TWU 556) for a new labor contract, the low-cost carrier announced Wednesday.The contract covers the Dallas-based company's nearly 20,000 flight attendants."Southwest's flight attendants support the Safety and comfort of our customers while providing legendary Southwest Hospitality," Adam Carlisle, Vice President Labor Relations at Southwest Airlines, said in a statement. "I am glad they will have the opportunity to vote on this new agreement."According to the airline, TWU 556 will provide details directly to flight attendants about the agreement and the voting process.At least nine Southwest workgroups, including its pilots, have ratified new agreements since October 2022.
