Southwest Airlines has added a new brand of pretzels to
serve on its flights, and they're Stellar.
No, really, that’s the brand. Stellar.
The Maui version of the snack is braided, buttery, and has a hint of Maui onion seasoning.
"Elevating our legendary hospitality is always something we strive
toward at Southwest," said Bill Tierney, Vice
President Customer Experience & Digital Experience at Southwest Airlines.
"We're enhancing our inflight snack offering with the addition of Stellar
Pretzels, which offer Customers a little bit of everything—sweet, salty, and
crunchy—from an up-and-coming company that bakes its snacks with love. We think
it's the perfect fit for the airline with heart, and hope customers enjoy this
exciting new flavor next time they fly Southwest."
Who knew pretzels could be so deep and esoteric?
"Our
best-selling Maui Monk Pretzels are high-quality, vegan, and non-GMO snacks
made in the U.S.," said Elisabeth Galvin, Founder, Stellar Snacks.
"In addition to our gourmet flavors, we take the snack experience further
through our artist program, which transforms our snack packaging into a canvas
for emerging artists. Each bag of Maui Monk Pretzels features a selection of
the vibrant artwork of Caro Clarke, turning each
snack into an engaging, artistic experience for every traveler as they enjoy
their pretzels."
Southwest now serves Stellar pretzels
on flights over 175 miles.
Airlines have been
upgrading their snack and dessert menu.
