United Airlines will increase its flights from San Francisco International Airport by 20 percent this year, with capacity up 6 percent from pre-pandemic levels as it adds more international flights.
The airline flies to 111 cities from SFO and will offer around 300 flights each day this summer from the airport. Starting next month, the airline will add new flights from SFO to San Jose, Costa Rica and Panama City, Panama.
It's also the only airline with routes to Europe from SFO, with a peak schedule of 11 daily flights to eight European destinations. It's extending its summer schedule this year to offer more flights to Europe.
United also announced it would be the only U.S. airline offering connections between San Francisco and Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam this winter. It also begins new seasonal service from SFO to Adelaide, Australia, and adds a second daily flight to Manila in December.
SFO is also undergoing a modernization project worth $2.6 billion, which will expand its Terminal 3, helping to increase United flights. The airline currently employs over 13,000 team members in the Bay Area.

"United keeps becoming the first and only U.S. airline to offer direct flights to these unique destinations, such as Rome, the Philippines, New Zealand and Belize, out of San Francisco in the last couple of years."
