WATCH: The Final Flight of US Airways

When US Airways Flight #1939 landed in Philadelphia early Saturday morning, it marked the end of an era, as US Airways officially completed the merger with American Airlines.

To celebrate the final journey from a historic airline, Flight #1939 - the year the first iteration of a much-merged company started - took passengers from Philadelphia to Charlotte, Phoenix and San Francisco, before finally returning to Philadelphia for its curtain call.

Before boarding and once the passengers disembarked from the final US Airways flight, the company held a party to say goodbye to the airline and welcome American Airlines as the world's largest air carrier.

One of the passengers onboard the special flight was former US Airways CEO Ed Colodny.

In addition, American Airlines also produced an amazing video on YouTube chronicling Flight #1939 and many of the people who helped make US Airways a success:

The two companies also integrated their reservations systems this past weekend, and while problems were anticipated, the merger went smoothly with minimal issues.
