Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is overhauling its revenue-management approach, moving to a strategy the company calls "base loading." The shift means offering more competitive pricing earlier in the booking curve, a move designed to rebuild demand and cut down on the steep close-in discounting that has weighed on results.

The company said the benefits of the new approach will take time to materialize. The first half of 2027 is still expected to be pressured, with meaningful improvement anticipated in the back half of the year.

In a statement, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings acknowledged it remains below its optimal booked position for the next 12 months, citing continued pressure from softer demand at its namesake Norwegian Cruise Line brand.

Looking ahead, the company pointed to the September 4 opening of the full amenities at Great Stirrup Cay, its private island in the Bahamas, as a potential demand driver for Caribbean itineraries. The expanded offering includes the pier, the new Great Tides Waterpark, the Great Life Lagoon and nearby Splash Harbor.

"As we look ahead, the full amenities at the Company's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, will be open to the public beginning September 4... which we expect will improve demand to Caribbean itineraries over time," the company noted in its statement.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings also outlined a broader set of priorities aimed at turning around commercial performance, including sharpening brand positioning and marketing execution, strengthening revenue management and pricing capabilities, and driving cost efficiencies, with an additional $100 million in savings targeted. The company also emphasized building the right leadership team to help rebuild momentum over time.

"We are executing with urgency on our priorities... While we are confident in the strength of our brands and the long-term benefits of the actions underway, we are still in the early stages of our turnaround. Our leadership team is united and focused on delivering sustainable growth and long-term value creation," said John W. Chidsey, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.

The company's comments signal a longer runway for its turnaround efforts, with executives framing 2027 as a transition year, one that starts under pressure but is expected to show clearer progress as pricing strategy changes and new onboard and destination amenities take hold.
