The world's largest labor union of flight attendants is speaking out against a controversial survey conducted by travel website Trippy.com.

According to Fox News, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has condemned the site for publishing the results of a recent survey that asked 2,000 people to rate female flight attendants' attractiveness on a scale of 1-to-10.

"Training and experience is what matters when an emergency occurs at 30,000 feet," AFA-CWA spokeswoman Taylor Garland told Fox News in an email. "The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has fought for over 70 years to stop these discriminatory and sexist practices in the aviation industry and across the world."

The survey relied on flight attendants' LinkedIn profile photos, with Trippy generating a composite photo for each airline based on 50 faces of women listed as employees on the networking site.

Respondents rated Emirates' flight attendants the most attractive, with the Middle Eastern carrier receiving an average attractiveness rating of 7.17. Trailing Emirates was United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, with Delta Air Lines and WestJet Airlines rounding out the top five.

While undoubtedly controversial, the survey isn't meant to be taken all that seriously. After all, the website noted that the results clearly don't reflect an airline's "service and ability to provide a great in-flight experience."

Still, critics argue surveys like this one downplay females' role in the sky, a role that's obviously pivotal to safe and enjoyable air travel.

Despite the backlash, a spokeswoman for Trippy told Fox News that a male version of the flight attendant attractiveness survey is in the works. What's more, the website said that it "values the importance and duty of flight attendants in keeping passengers safe."
