After video of a Delta Air Lines representative cursing at a passenger surfaced Monday, the carrier has issued a formal apology to the traveler and suspended the employee.
According to KGW News, 37-year-old Ruhul Amin was traveling from Honolulu to Portland February 11 when his Delta flight was delayed twice. He was eventually re-accommodated on a Hawaiian Airlines flight, but his luggage arrived in Oregon on a Delta plane since he had checked it early.
Amin reportedly went to the Delta desk after landing in Portland at around 10 p.m. local time to collect his luggage. He said the employees working there treated him rudely, so he took out his phone and began recording the conversation, which resulted in the Delta representative cursing at him.
The video was posted online (Warning: language NSFW):
“The actions displayed by this employee do not in any way reflect the standard of customer service and professionalism we expect from our employees,” a Delta spokesperson told KGW. “This conduct is unacceptable and we have reached out directly to the customer and apologized.”

As a result of the video and subsequent complaints, Delta has suspended the employee and revealed they plan to follow up with him regarding the incident.
As for Amin, the airline apologized Monday and offered him a $200 voucher. In addition, Delta employees found his bag and delivered it to him at the hotel where he was staying.
