Delta Air Lines announced its first-ever nonstop flights
between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Ninoy Aquino International
Airport (MNL) in Manila.
Launching on March 28, 2027, the new route between LAX and the
Philippines will be served by Delta’s Airbus A350-900 fleet, making the airline
the only United States carrier to offer nonstop service between Los Angeles and
Manila.
“Customers traveling through Los Angeles continue to benefit
from Delta’s investments in LAX, including an expanding Asia-Pacific network
and the opening of our second Delta One Lounge,” Delta Vice President of
Network Planning, Jeff Arinder, said.
“The addition of Manila builds on the world-class travel
experience our customers have come to expect from Delta while strengthening our
position as LAX’s leading global carrier and premier West Coast hub,” Arinder
continued.
In addition to new flights to Manila, Delta recently
expanded service from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, Melbourne, Shanghai, and more. The
airline operates more than 160 peak-day departures to over 50 destinations from
LAX.
“As a primary gateway to the Pacific, LAX is proud to
welcome Delta's new nonstop service to Manila,” Los Angeles World Airports’ Doug
Webster said. “This daily service gives our guests another direct link to
family and culture in the Philippines and reflects the strength of our
partnership with Delta in delivering world-class service to one of Southern
California's most deeply connected international markets.”
Earlier this week, Delta announced a major expansion to make
sustainable
aviation fuel (SAF) more readily available at airports across the country. The
new initiative is part of a five-year partnership with Shell Aviation, which
will see the two companies expand SAF availability in five key hubs and
gateways throughout the U.S.
