Avalon Waterways announced Monday the company is adding an Avalon Adventure Host to all 2019 European cruises.
The Avalon Adventure Hosts will be based in a new Adventure Center and will allow travelers to check out a bike from onboard their Suite Ship for a scenic ride through town or grab a Nordic walking stick and hike to a European hillside vineyard or castle.
Cruise passengers can also partake in a kayaking excursion or a complimentary fitness class on the Sky Deck with the help of a new Adventure Host.
To further entice travelers, Avalon is offering the See Beyond Sales event, which gives customers the chance to save up to $2,500 per couple on select Europe and Asia river cruises booked in 2019.
"Heartwarming discoveries have always been available on every Avalon Waterways cruise," Avalon Waterways managing director Pam Hoffee said in a statement. "For those looking for heart-pumping discoveries as well, we are now providing our guests with an Avalon Adventure Host who will be on-hand with gear, maps and more for active pursuits on and off the ship."
Avalon also announced the new AvalonGo App, coming in 2019. The app will help travelers explore each destination throughout their vacation with a detailed, daily schedule of their itinerary, as well as a list of nearby attractions, restaurants, bars and entertainment options.
In addition to Avalon Adventure Hosts bolstering all 2019 European cruises, the company announced six new river cruise options, including its first along India's Ganges river. The cruise line also introduced a new Avalon Choice program featuring Classic, Discovery and Active excursions on every itinerary throughout Europe.
Last week, Avalon announced the debut of the new Avalon Envision next year, making it the cruise line's 16th Suite Ship worldwide.
