The Dominican Republic's Amber Cove is scheduled to make its cruise debut in October 2015.
According to a press release from Carnival Cruise Lines, eight Carnival cruise ships featuring five new itineraries will include calls at Amber Cove during the winter/spring season in 2015-16.
Those voyages will set sail from four different U.S. homeports, including Miami.
The Carnival Victory will be the first vessel to arrive at the port when it docks for a day-long call on Oct. 6, 2015. But that call is just one of more than three dozen that will include more than 100,000 guests from Oct.2015 to April 2016.
"Amber Cove is destined to become a cornerstone in creating new itineraries from several U.S. home ports," said Carnival's senior vice president of itinerary planning Terry Thornton in a statement.
"It will provide an unmatched combination of 'fun in the sun' activities and eco-tourism opportunities along with unique sightseeing, dining and cultural experiences to create a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories for our guests," Thornton added.
Located along the Dominican Republic's North Coast, the colorful Amber Cove features plenty of tropical scenery, including mountains and beautiful beaches.

In addition to providing convenient access to the historic town of Puerto Plata, Amber Cove will offer travelers a wide range of activities to choose from, including shopping and water sports.
Travelers will also be able to access nearby land and sea adventures via the cove's transportation center.
