Carnival Cruise Line's 2003-launched Carnival Glory is the company's first Conquest-class ship to receive a full WaterWorks aqua park onboard.

The midship space was previously occupied by a single Twister waterslide and secondary swimming pool. Both have been replaced with a total of four new slides and more.

The new WaterWorks on Deck 12 opened to fanfare with a ribbon-cutting ceremony following the ship's latest renovation. By displacing the pool entirely, its former footprint allows for more space where additional slides can descend.

A new, open 212-foot-long Twister waterslide was installed to replace the original, which is now interwoven with another enclosed AquaTunnel slide, an entirely new variety for Carnival. The AquaTunnel's partially translucent tube traverses a distance of 203 feet.

Meanwhile, a pair of mini-racing slides better-suited for young children round out the main attractions along with a 75-gallon PowerDrencher tipping bucket to top it all. Extra water interactivity ensures soaking fun all through the day while the main lido deck pool remains for those guests still seeking to take a leisurely dip.

Other Carnival favorites onboard include Seuss at Sea for kids; "Hasbro, The Game Show" for families and The Punchliner Comedy Club for all ages. Carnival Glory currently sails year-round on 7-day cruises from Port Miami, Florida.

The remaining Conquest-class ships-the Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Liberty and Carnival Valor-have yet to receive a WaterWorks like the Carnival Glory and retain their original configurations. To see what that looks like and take a POV ride down an original Twister waterslide, you can view my video review of the Carnival Freedom, hosted at my Popular Cruising YouTube channel and embedded below.

Of the four other ships, the Conquest is next scheduled for a dry-dock refurbishment at the end of September 2017, but it has not yet been announced whether or not it too will receive its own WaterWorks.
