If you wanted your last cruise to last forever, don't worry, you're not alone.
A recent survey of 434 Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) travel agents conducted late last year reveals that longer cruises are becoming more and more popular among travelers.
Thirty-seven percent of agents noted an increase in bookings for cruises lasting 14 to 100 days.
According to travel agents, the longer cruises appear to be most popular among retired and wealthy travelers who have more time to devote to travel.
The No. 1 advantage of a longer cruise is the ability to see numerous destinations on one trip without the stress and hassle of dealing with airports and packing luggage. The variety of intriguing itineraries certainly doesn't hurt either.
In 2015, travelers will have a plethora of long or world cruises to choose from on some of the industry's top cruise lines and ships.
A 14-day South America cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Sun and Silversea Cruises' 115-day World Cruise 2015 to 30 different countries represent each end of the spectrum when it comes to longer cruises.
However Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Crystal Cruises and Costa Cruises are CLIA members offering exciting itineraries for travelers eyeing an extended cruise in 2015-16.
