Costa Diadema, the new Costa Cruises' flagship that will be christened in Genoa on Nov. 7, 2014, will be a cutting-edge vessel. Also, thanks to her innovative entertainment offerings, which aim to satisfy both young and adult guests, everyone can play games, enjoy a wide selection of activities and sports, or chill out with old and new friends in complete autonomy and comfort.
Total fun for every taste
Costa Diadema will offer special areas onboard dedicated to the entertainment of adult guests who relish their free time. For those who want to appreciate the sun and the spectacular views of the sea, there will be an open-air promenade extending over 500 meters.
Of the three swimming pools, one boasts a retractable roof, offering under the stars entertainment with parties, live music, dances and animation, such as Costa's special event "La Notte Bianca" (White Party) and animated mob dances, music concerts and sophisticated tenor performances. The area around the pools will occasionally become a disco, thanks to DJ's and musicians performing, whereas, during days at sea, guests will sunbath at "Lido Stella del Sud," "Lido Diana" and "Lido Burmese Rose" before taking a relaxing stroll along the promenade.
Costa guests will be able to go wild on the dance floor at nights in the disco and try their luck at the casino. "Shopaholics" as well as "window shoppers" will appreciate the Portobello Market piazza, the heart of a 1,100-square-meter area consisting of designer stores and retail outlets.
A novelty, designed expressly for the new Costa flagship, is the Country Rock Club, the place to hang out while listening to some legendary classic rock from excellent international artists, spending a rockin' night. The club will be hosting tribute concerts to legendary rock bands, country line dancing animated events and, of course, there will be plenty of room to dance in a lively environment.
Shows at the "Emerald Theater" Selected performances designed for the new flagship
Costa Entertainment experts have planned four new production shows for the upcoming Costa Diadema, which will amaze guests, who adhere from all over the world. The Emerald Theater - a three-level theatre - is where every Costa guest will be taken in by the spectacle, regardless of nationality.
The Italian culture and tradition will be on display in "Flavors of Italy," as Costa Diadema will be the "Regina del Mediterraneo", ambassador of Italy's finest. The musical "Flavors of Italy" combines art, opera, cinema, fashion, Italian traditions and lifestyle. This is a performance focused on Italy's finest as a whole, representing the most beloved and famous aspects of Italian lifestyle and culture.
The Emerald Theater will turn into a kaleidoscope of artworks, colors, songs and much more. Among the themes, for instance, will be the traditional Venice carnival, the everlasting myth of Vespa, football and the Sanremo music festival. Guests will appreciate what makes Italy famous around the world!
"Kings and Queens of Pop & Rock" is a music performance dedicated to the most beloved, worldwide artists. The musicians, featured in this show, will actually be onstage and accompany the professional cast, who will delight the guests with classics of pop and rock icons such as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Beatles and Queen. For the fans of Latin music, the performers will also play hits by Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and Ricky Martin.
Another striking international production will be "Feel the Beat," allowing Costa Diadema's guests to feel the extraordinary rhythms combining the music and dance of hip hop and jazz, Brazilian samba, tap, Irish dance, as well as Bollywood-inspired performances, the classic Viennese Waltz, and many others.
Guests will also have the possibility to assist in the circus show, featuring a wide variety of artist performances - an exhibition not to be missed - entertainment activity particularly exciting for a cruise ship.
Hi-tech entertainment activities
An exclusive feature on Costa Diadema will be "Star Laser," a completely new area that will amaze guests with different styles of interactive laser games, including the "Laser Maze"and laser shooting games. While created with young people in mind, everyone who enjoys taking on new challenges and lively activities will appreciate the excitement. In the "Laser Maze," guests have to pass through luminous laser beams without touching them, while "Laser Shooting" is a thrilling simulation game - two gripping games of skill to play with friends!
"Star Laser" also represents the ideal location to celebrate unique birthday parties, private events and celebrations. The area of 80 square metersis provided with a high-quality lighting and sound system. Moreover, the guests can perform karaoke or dance to the rhythm of a DJ party.
Kids and adults will have the opportunity to enjoy other recreational features of Costa Diadema, such as the 4DCinema, an exclusive show involving all five senses, and a real Grand Prix race car simulator that reproduces actual races on some of the best international tracks. Videogame lovers will be able to dive into the virtual reality of the latest-generation games in the video arcade area.
For children
The area dedicated to children will be particularly implemented onboard the new flagship. The "Squok Club", run free of charge, is designed with new colors and furniture to welcome kids. Here, they will be able to play with the latest video games in the enlarged dedicated space, or enjoy the wide offer of Spin Master games, with the assistance of the Costa entertainment staff.
The famous Meccano, Spy Gear covert mission kits and the magic Aquadoodle color mat for toddlers are just some of the Spin Master toys that await young guests. Onboard Costa Diadema there will be an exclusive area on the open deck equipped with a pool for children, a reproduction of a Galleon and a Castle on three levels, to make kids play as if they were on their favorite playground.
Costa staff will also plan several activities for young guests, like treasure hunts, mini-Olympics, pool games, costume parades, body painting, themed activities, and a special initiative for little girls onboard: they will have the opportunity to live the unforgettable experience of being "Princess for a day!" Moreover, the open-air kids area is also available for children under 3 years, thanks to special protections that guarantee their safe amusement.
Costa entertainment staff will be watching over the children as well, so parents will be able to relax, take shore excursions, experience the Samsara Spa onboard or simply sunbathe by the pool and take a stroll on the open air Promenade.
