CroisiEurope, a company expanding its marketing efforts in the U.S., has acquired a river cruise company that operates on the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia. With the acquisition of Compagnie Fluviale du Mékong, or CFM, CroisiEurope will gain four new colonial-style ships. Two more vessels are under construction in Vietnam. The company name will be CFM by CroisiEurope.
The acquisition comes after CroisiEurope has chartered CFM's 48-passenger Indochine since 2011. The expanded fleet also includes the 44-passenger Lan Diep, the 20-guest Tioum Tou 1 and the 28-passenger Tioum Tou. The vessels, described as four-star luxury ships, are completely paneled in tropical hardwood.
The vessels will continue to operate itineraries between Siem Reap and Saigon, via Phnom Penh, from August to April. These cruises visit the Khmer temples at Angkor, Saigon, Phnom Penh, floating villages, Lake Tonle Sap and fish farms on the Mekong delta.
