Cunard has unveiled new shore excursions for travelers sailing aboard Queen Anne, the cruise line’s newest ship.
The 2,996-guest vessel will debut in May. During her maiden season, the ship will sail from Southampton, England, to the Canary Islands, Western Europe, Norway and other destinations.
"We are all incredibly excited to welcome Queen Anne to the Cunard fleet in May and it is only right that her maiden season is complemented with a truly captivating shore experience program,” says Katie McAlister, Cunard’s president.
Guests who join those 2024 sailings can choose from dozens of shore excursions. In total, Queen Anne will offer 50 excursions in 60 ports next year. Some take place at well-known tourist attractions, while others are a bit farther afield.
Examples include a fjord safari to a goat cheese farm in Norway; a behind-the-scenes tour of St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City; an orchestra concert at a secret location in Barcelona; a visit to a 150-year-old gold and silversmith studio in Bergen; and a wine tasting in the the Enchanted Forest of Madeira, to name a few.
“Our teams have worked meticulously to curate these 50 signature experiences to ensure that our guests encounter the essence of every port they explore,” says McAlister. “From ancient ruins and culinary escapades to helicopter rides and private snorkeling sessions, we're delighted to be able to offer such exciting new shore experiences to Queen Anne's guests."
Queen Anne is Cunard’s 249th ship and will join the line’s existing fleet of Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. The luxury vessel is under construction at the Fincantieri Marghera shipyard in Venice.
