PORT EVERGLADES (FORT LAUDERDALE), FLORIDA – Disney Cruise Line has officially christened its newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny.

Disney kept the announcement of Susan Egan, the voice of Meg from the animated movie "Hercules," as Godmother of the ship up until the very day of the ship’s christening.

Josh D'Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, and Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, first opened the ceremony with a welcome message on November 10 outside of the Port Everglades cruise terminal before cast members performed hit songs from Disney's heroes and villains.

The Disney Destiny is the third ship in the Wish-class ships, which first featured the Disney Wish in 2022 and the Disney Treasure in 2024.

The theme of this new cruise ship is all about Heros and Villains, with two prominent characters displayed on the ship’s exterior.

Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots are featured on the Disney Destiny’s stern, while Hero Minnie Mouse adorns the ship's bow.

The new theme for the Disney Destiny is truly highlighted by the ship’s key entertainment offerings, including a Broadway-style production of "Disney Hercules," which features a brand-new original song, plus the all-new Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, a dinner experience brought to life with live musical performances inspired by the beloved movie.

Throughout the ship, themed lounges and bars evoke iconic stories, from the eerie charm of the Haunted Mansion and the swashbuckling adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean to a chic lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil. Character interactions will be plentiful, offering unique opportunities to meet both courageous heroes and fascinating villains like Dr. Facilier and Maleficent.

The Disney Destiny’s accommodations continue the theme, with staterooms featuring artwork inspired by heroes from Hercules, Mulan, and Brave, all while offering Disney's signature split-bath concept for family convenience.

The inaugural season officially kicks off on the November 20 sailing, and the ship will feature 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and The Caribbean, including stops at Disney's private island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay or the new Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
