Now is the time to see the Northern Lights.
Scientists are predicting that the Solar Maximum will take place in 2024 and 2025. This means there will be the most frequent and impressive light displays taking place in more than a decade. If you don't go now, it will be 11 years until the next Solar Maximum.
The good news is that Hurtigruten is further maximizing the Solar Maximum with a chief aurora chaser.
Tom Kerss, an independent astronomer and author based in London, has been appointed to the post. Kerss will sail with passengers on select Northern Lights voyages and provide insights about the mysterious aurora borealis.

Hurtigruten also guarantees Northern Lights sightings or guests can have another shot with a free cruise on bookings along the Norwegian coast.
Hurtigruten's Northern Lights Promise is applicable to its cruises during the 'auroral season' on the North Cape Express or the Original Coastal Express from September 20, 2024, to March 31, 2025. The itinerary must be at least 11 days long. If there are no aurora sightings, guests can book a six-day southbound or a seven-day northbound Original Coastal Express Classic Voyage for free for another shot at seeing the lights.
