Holland America Line’s ship Rotterdam is back on the water after a two-week dry dock in the Netherlands.
The vessel recently started its summer cruise season in Northern Europe, offering seven-day itineraries throughout the region. Right now, during Holland America Line’s anniversary sale, travelers can save up to 30 percent off cruise-only fares, onboard credits of up to $400 per statement, 50 percent reduced deposits, and free third and fourth kids when traveling in the same stateroom.
Onboard Rotterdam, guests can take advantage of enhancements like updated Vista Suites, additional live music venues, a refreshed Effy shop and updated finishes throughout the ship.
Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Lounge now feature additional seating, along with a redesigned central lounge that allows guests to enjoy live performances from both venues. Crow’s Nest also debuted a new live music stage, creating another space for guests to enjoy performances, lectures and enrichment programming. Crews also added a new live music stage and bandstand at the Sea View Pool on Deck 9 aft, expanding entertainment options outdoors.
The project enhanced 22 Vista Suites with new sofa beds, giving each room a comfortable sleeping arrangement for up to four guests.
Updates throughout the ship include new carpeting across staterooms, guest corridors and public areas, as well as select updated tables in the main dining room. The main public areas throughout the ship also received new furniture upholstery, as well as refinished and hand-polished wood chairs, refinished floors and new wall coverings.
The Greenhouse Spa & Salon received updates, including the installation of a new, more ergonomic hair‑washing station. Rotterdam’s casino was refreshed and now features approximately 20 additional slot machines, new seating, updated carpeting and new televisions installed in the table games area.
Rotterdam’s dry dock also included refurbishment work in the Effy Jewelry retail venue. These updates align Rotterdam’s shop with the upgrades done on Holland America Line’s Koningsdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam. The reimagined boutique features new flooring, wall finishes, lighting and display fixtures, along with upgraded signage, merchandising elements, pedestal and wall displays, ceiling finishes and a new central feature chandelier.
