Spring offers a diverse range of options for guests taking Hurtigruten's Coastal Voyage - whether it is the three seasons that pop up in April with the most optional activities available; the May 17 National Day celebrations; or the explosion of life and natural beauty along the Norway coast during the June sailing period.
To make it tougher to resist, Hurtigruten has announced the return of the very popular "Norway Five-Day Sale." The spring season sale, running from Feb. 2-6, reduces fares on the award-winning six-, seven-, 11- and 12-day classic coastal voyage on all sailings for those three months by up to 35 percent off standard prices - amounting to as much as $1,065 in savings per person. This capacity-controlled special is for new bookings only and applies to the voyage fares.
Savings examples on starting fares:
- Classic Round Trip, 12 days: $2,214 vs. $3,279 - a savings of $1,065
- Norwegian Discovery, 11 days: $2,070 vs. $3,065 - a savings of $995
- Classic Voyage North, seven days: $1,458 vs. $2,159 - a savings of $701
- Classic Voyage South, six days: $1,332 vs. $1,972 - a savings of $640
These special fares can be combined with all other promos except the April promo and Single Waiver promo.
Spring is a very special time to Norwegians as life begins anew after the long winter nights. Guests can travel through three season during the same voyage - the spring and summer climates of the southern portion to the winter wonderland of the Arctic.
April can veer between the crispness of the winter and the beauty of the snow-covered landscape to the warmer moments when you can tell summer is just around the corner. May is the start of the flowering and wildlife coming back into the forefront and the celebration of Norway's National Day (May 17) when Norway's constitution was signed.
June kicks off the summer activities - from the hiking to the high-octane RIB (rigid inflatable boat) adventures to the Russian border ATV Safaris.
Recognized as "The world's most beautiful voyage" by Lonely Planet, Hurtigruten's modern ships sail along a route honored twice by National Geographic Traveler as the "Best Destination in the World." A staple of Norwegian culture for more than 120 years, the Classic Voyage offers a unique glimpse into Norwegian culture.
The incredible diversity of ports offers Hurtigruten's guests a wealth of experiences and an ever-changing landscape of small fishing villages in the rugged Lofoten Islands; Art Nouveau Ålesund, the medieval Viking capital of Trondheim; and Norway's "Paris of the North," Tromso. A variety of new excursions include hikes, whale watching, guided cycling trips, kayaking, an evening trot under the midnight sun on gentle Icelandic horses and more.
Savings vary by date, length of voyage and cabin/suite selection. Hurtigruten is providing an easy-to-use email template for travel agents to send to their clients, as well as targeting tips. An online booking engine with interactive calendar showing prices, availability and more can be found at www.hurtigruten.us/norway5daysale.
