HX (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) is launching several new trade initiatives in honor of Travel Advisor Appreciation Day on May 1.
The company is giving away free cruises, rolling out new incentives, boosting commissions and introducing a new help desk, among other developments.
"At HX, we deeply value the tireless efforts and dedication of our partners, and we're committed to providing support to help them succeed," says Sheralyn Berry, HX’s general manager in the Americas.
Travel advisors who want to sail to Antarctica can enter for a chance to win a free cruise to the White Continent. To enter HX’s Antarctica Giveaway, travel advisors need to join the new HX Travel Partners, Americas private Facebook group and register with HX’s agent portal voyage. And for every Anarctica cabin a travel advisor books during the month of May, they get three additional entries.
"We deeply appreciate the dedication of our travel advisor partners," says Berry. "This giveaway is our way of expressing gratitude for their invaluable contributions to our brand’s growth in the Americas."
HX is also rolling out a new “Sell 5, Sail Free” incentive. From now through the end of the year, travel advisors who book five passengers for 2024 and 2025 departures can earn a free voyage that’s up to 14 days long (excluding trips to Machu Picchu).
From now through August 31, travel advisors can earn 25 percent commissions on all Antarctica and Galapagos bookings for departures from October 2024 to December 31, 2025.
The company is also introducing a new dedicated B2B help desk line (1-866-312-6791) for travel advisors that’s available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST Monday through Friday.
"This initiative underscores our dedication to equipping our trade partners with the tools they need to succeed in today's dynamic travel industry," says Berry.
This week, HX also announced the hiring of Mindy Cummings as the new business development manager for the southwestern U.S.
On May 29, the company will also launch a second season of its HXplore webinar series, which will focus on the expedition experience. It will be led by Bob van Beers, expedition leader for MS Fridtjof Nansen. The sessions will also be recorded and made available on the HX Agent Portal.
