MSC Cruises will have nine ships sailing the Mediterranean this summer—and there’s still time to book a voyage.
From now through October, the cruise line will offer an array of 7- to 11-night cruises that visit popular destinations like Valencia, Spain; Livorno, Italy; Naples, Italy; Barcelona, Spain; Palermo, Italy; Ibiza, Spain; Cannes, France; and Cádiz, Spain.
The MSC ships sailing in the region this year are: MSC Fantasia, MSC Seaside, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Seaview, MSC World Europa, MSC Musica, MSC Poesia, MSC Orchestra, MSC Divina and MSC Seaview.
Also this week, the cruise line’s MSC Foundation announced a new strategic three-year partnership with Mission Blue, the nonprofit marine conservation organization led by American marine biologist and oceanographer Sylvia Earle.
“By joining forces with the MSC Foundation, we can now reach millions of people who are out on the ocean each year to help educate them on what is below the ship and inspire greater marine stewardship,” says Early, president and co-chair of Mission Blue.
As part of the new partnership, Mission Blue and MSC Foundation will implement an ocean literacy program designed to educate 4 million MSC Cruises’ guests, as well as a restoration project that will plant up to 37,000 seagrass plants around the island of Formentera, Spain.
“We aim to boost ongoing efforts to replenish seagrass meadows to mitigate the effects of human activity and climate change, restoring ecological balance and supporting marine life,” says Daniela Picco, executive director of the MSC Foundation.
