National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions has released its 2028-29 itinerary schedule, offering new itineraries, including a return to French Polynesia with a rare visit to Makatea.
“The future of expedition travel is no longer defined solely by where travelers go — but how they travel, when they travel, and who guides them there,” said Trey Byus, Chief Expedition Officer, Lindblad Expeditions. “Our upcoming deployment reflects that idea with longer voyages, expanded access, and deeper exploration across our guests’ favorite destinations, led by the people who know them best.
“From more time in Antarctica and the Arctic to sailing in the Makatea, where few operators go, these journeys are shaped by years of expertise in destinations where access and expertise change everything.”
New and Expanded Itineraries Around the World
The new season includes longer Southeast Alaska itineraries, with a new round-trip voyage from Vancouver aboard the line’s Greg Mortimer. Itineraries visit the Inian Islands and explore Tongass by foot and kayak. Select voyages include Alaska Whale Foundation researchers onboard.
Nat Geo-Lindblad Expeditions will be returning to French Polynesia with new seven-day and 14-day itineraries, visiting Pitcairn Island and Makatea. Select departures are accompanied by Tua Pittman, one of fewer than ten living Pwo navigators and a master wayfinder.
Travelers considering visiting Antarctica can now enjoy holiday departures at sea, with expanded Cruise/Fly options and longer itineraries going deeper south, including the Southern Ocean Odyssey, which visits Patagonia, the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica.
Arctic itineraries are also being expanded, with a 10-night circumnavigation of Iceland, voyages that spend over five days on Baffin Island, a sailing of the Northwest Passage and more.
For less intense trips, the line’s European river voyages are great choices. In 2028-29, highlights include meeting Holocaust survivors in Amsterdam, enjoying after-hours visits to some incredible attractions and enjoying Christmas markets along the Danube on select sailings.
