Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Unveils Sail & Sustain Report

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. has unveiled its annual Sail & Sustain report, which outlines the company’s efforts to make a positive impact while advancing its “Charting the Course” strategic vision.

The company’s Sail & Sustain program is based on five pillars: Caring for Nature, Sailing Safely, Empowering People, Strengthening Our Communities and Operating with Integrity & Accountability.

“The Sail & Sustain report reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible, long-term business practices,” says Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and continue to take a thoughtful approach to aligning day-to-day execution with long-term strategy, from how we operate our ships to how we support our people, communities and the guest experience we deliver.”

Highlights of the new report include:

• Giving approximately $1.8 million in cash and in-kind donations to nonprofit organizations
• Passing 100 percent of public health inspections
• Equipping 59 percent of ships with shore power capability, exceeding the 50 percent target
• Diverting 54 percent of total waste from landfills
• More than 360,00 hours of training and development completed by staff
