Will the show go on for Norwegian Cruise Line?
Not for seven shows on nine of its ships.
NCL has decided to shut down most of its production shows. The cruise line has already informed its live entertainment staff that most shows will shut down between July of this year and February of next year. It is not known whether NCL plans to replace the cancel shows with new shows.
The affected production shows are aboard the Norwegian Gen, the Spirit, the Jewel, the Star, the Joy, the Dawn, and the Breakaway. It remains to be seen whether this is a cost cutting move related to the numerous cancelations by the cruise line of late.
Organically produced Broadway-style musicals are expensive, however.
Most of the canceled shows have already been removed from the NCL website.
