Norwegian Cruise Line will bring back the ship-within-a-ship luxury suite complex and the popular studio staterooms for solo travelers on its 4,200-passenger Norwegian Escape, scheduled for delivery in fall 2015.
The 163,000-ton vessel will have 95 suites in The Haven by Norwegian, a two-deck private area accessible only by key card. It also features a private restaurant with outdoor terrace and a lounge. The private courtyard area is covered by a retractable roof and has a pool, two whirlpools, a sauna, spa treatment rooms and a sun deck.
The Haven will have several categories of expansive suites, including 25 two-bedroom, 540-square-foot family villas that sleep up to six people. The family villas have two bathrooms; the master bath has a luxury shower, two vanity sinks and an oversized tub.
The four Haven deluxe owner's suites are more than 1,300 square feet in size with a living room, dining area, wet bar, guest bedroom with bathroom and two balconies.
All suites will feature pillow-top mattresses, fine linens, espresso machines, plush bathrobes, slippers, oversized towels and more. Guests in The Haven also get priority embarkation and disembarkation, and the services of a butler and concierge.
Norwegian Escape also will have 82 studios in a private keycard-access complex. The studios measure about 100 square feet, enough room for a full-size bed, a window to the corridor, and a separate toilet, sink and shower. All Studio guests have access to the private Studio Lounge, which allows solo travelers to meet and mingle.
Norwegian Escape also will have 308 mini-suites, 20 spa mini-suites, 1,168 balcony staterooms, 114 ocean-view staterooms, 407 inside staterooms and 47 wheelchair-accessible staterooms in a variety of categories.
Norwegian will announce the ship's homeport and itineraries in mid-March, when the first sailings will go on sale.
