Royal Caribbean International has announced more than 20 cruise cancellations aboard Freedom of the Seas.
The summer 2027 sailings will be scrapped as the cruise ship is redeployed to Southampton to meet increased demand.
"Deployment planning is dynamic and regularly reviewed based on demand, capacity requirements, and broader fleet considerations. As part of this process, we’ve made the decision to redeploy Freedom of the Seas to Southampton in 2027," the cruise line confirmed. "Guests and travel partners are being contacted directly with details about their sailings and available options."
The canceled cruises included Caribbean sailings ranging from four to nine nights, taking place from May to September 2027.
Impacted guests have been notified and are being offered an alternative four-night sailing aboard Wonder of the Seas departing from Miami, but can also select from a five-night Western Caribbean cruise on Adventure of the Seas or a three-night cruise to the Bahamas aboard Jewel of the Seas.
Travelers are also entitled to a refund. Customers can contact Royal Caribbean by April 1. Affected guests who do nothing will be automatically moved to the four-night Wonder of the Seas sailing departing September 20, 2027.
The cruise cancellations come just days after rival Carnival Cruise Line canceled 11 sailings set to depart aboard Carnival Firenze this coming fall.
