Victory Cruise Lines is adding itself to the list of cruise lines sailing conveniently roundtrip from the U.S. to Cuba. The company had received its approval in June, according to Seatrade Cruise News and has now revealed details about its extensive 13, 14 and 15-night circumnavigations of the Caribbean island nation.
"We may not be the first cruise line to serve Cuba from the U.S., but we believe-and travel agents have told us-that we have created the best itinerary with our multiday port experiences that will allow our guests to really explore the country and its people in a more relaxed and well-paced way," said Bruce Nierenberg, president and CEO of Victory Cruise Lines, in a press release.
"Most cruise ships are too big to call anywhere except Havana and no cruise product has as many multiday stops in Cuba as Victory I. All Victory I 'Cuba 360' cruises will completely circumnavigate the island nation."
The 202-guest ship will begin sailing from Miami, Florida on February 8, 2018 on a two-week itinerary to five ports-of-call including overnights in Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Trinidad, as well as day visits to Cienfuegos and Maria la Gorda. It will be the first of six scheduled voyages.
Other cruises, all roundtrip from Miami, depart on February 22, March 9 and 24, and April 7 and 20, 2018 with fares beginning at $8,957 per person based on double occupancy.
The Victory I onboard experience will be all-inclusive with complimentary food and beverages such as spirits, plus free shore excursions. The sailings adhere to U.S. regulations including those recently announced by President Trump and the U.S. State Department, and excursions also follow U.S. guidelines. Victory Cruise Lines will supply certification of compliance with U.S. regulations for all Victory I guests.

"What also distinguishes Victory Cruise Lines from other operators in Cuba is our intimate, classically furnished Victory I, which offers the finest dining and highest service levels in the market," Nierenberg added. "Add to that our immersive shore excursions and creative port experiences and our guests will have an unmatched opportunity to really get to know the culture and people of this undiscovered region and largest country in the Caribbean."
Following the 2018 winter season, there will be an 11-day "Cuba and Colonial America" repositioning journey on May 5 including airfare from Miami to Havana and an overnight stay in the Cuban capital city. The ship then will leave on May 6 stopping at Jacksonville (St. Augustine), Florida; Charleston (Mount Pleasant), South Carolina; Norfolk (Yorktown), Virginia; Newport, Rhode Island and Gloucester (Boston), Massachusetts on its way to Portland, Maine. Rates begin at $6,890 per person, double occupancy.
