It appears to be smooth sailing for Villa Vie Residences, which, due to popular demand, is planning to add a second residential ship – Legacy – to its fleet in early 2029.
“The announcement comes as Villa Vie Odyssey surpasses 85% of its available residences sold, creating a new challenge for prospective owners,” Villa Vie Residences said. “Many have expressed interest in Legacy’s larger accommodations but are reluctant to postpone nearly three years of travel waiting for the new ship to enter service.”
Seamless Transition for Lifetime Residents
Villa Vie’s innovative ownership model connects Odyssey and Legacy, allowing buyers participating in the Endless Horizons lifetime residency program to automatically receive permanent residency rights aboard Legacy when it debuts.
“Originally introduced at $349,999, Endless Horizons provides permanent residential cruising through a one-time purchase,” Villa Vie said. “Those residency rights will now extend across both Odyssey and Legacy without any additional purchase price, upgrade fee, or transition cost, further enhancing the long-term value of the program as Villa Vie expands its fleet.”
The Legacy Bridge Program
In other developments, Villa Vie Residences introduced the Legacy Bridge Program, enabling prospective buyers to purchase accommodations before the ship’s launch in 2029.
The program will allow for 24 ownership purchases – commemorating each of Odyssey’s 24 months of consecutive operation – resulting in residency aboard Odyssey and a guaranteed right to transition to similar residences aboard Legacy.
A Proven Concept Expands
“When we launched Odyssey, we set out to prove that residential cruising wasn't just possible – it was sustainable,” said Villa Vie Residences Founder Mike Petterson.
“Two years later, with Odyssey more than 85% sold, we've reached an exciting milestone. Legacy is the natural evolution of everything we've learned from our residents and operations around the world,” he added.
